The second volume of Moon from MENLU presents a striking cover by Stephan Louwes that splits the world in two: up top, two wide-eyed children peer anxiously through a vehicle window bearing an emergency warning sign, while below, two figures stand on the deck of a sailing vessel gazing out at a smoldering volcano rising dramatically over a coastal city bathed in dusky pink light. That visual tension — modern unease crashing into an ancient, erupting landscape — captures the spirit of "De stervende stad" ("The Dying City") perfectly. Louwes's clean linework and atmospheric color palette make this 2024 release a genuinely compelling addition to the series.
