Monty Hall and the Girl Photographer follows a war correspondent, Miranda (Randy) Bailey, as she arrives at the front lines in Korea, much to the dismay of Marines Monty Hall, Tex, and Canarsie, who are assigned to protect her during an amphibious landing. As the trio struggles to keep up with her relentless pace and unorthodox methods, they find themselves caught in a series of chaotic and dangerous situations—from jammed jeeps to sniper fire—while trying to balance her desire to document the war with their duty to keep her safe.

Tex, a Marine at a rest camp, becomes determined to tame a wild Chinese Mongolian pony he spots nearby, despite warnings from his buddy Canarsie. His attempt to break the horse in using makeshift methods leads to a chaotic and comically disastrous ride that ends with the horse—whom they jokingly name "Major"—accidentally ending up in the nurses’ quarters.
