This issue contains two Monte Hale stories. In "The Kindest Man in Town," Monte and his pardner discover that two seemingly innocent drifters are actually planning to rob the bank, having already cracked the safe and arranged to split their ill-gotten gains. When the bandits attempt their getaway, the bank guard recognizes them and opens fire, forcing Monte and his partner to pursue and stop them. In the second story, "Rustlers' Haven," Monte is called to help stop rustlers operating in the remote Riodosa Valley, where he and another lawman must infiltrate a gang's mountain hideout to break up their cattle-stealing operation.
