Monster Tamer Girls #2

The concluding volume of Mujirushi Shimazaki's Monster Tamer Girls brings the series to a satisfying close, with the cover showing two young women — one in a school uniform, one in casual wear — draped comfortably across the back of an enormous, armored creature, its golden eye gleaming and massive clawed foot planted firmly in the foreground. A pair of small rabbits linger nearby, adding an unexpectedly gentle contrast to the creature's imposing bulk. It's a charming snapshot of the series' mix of scale and warmth, and a fitting farewell to this monster-taming world from Yen Press's 2018 lineup.
