Monster Hunters #18

A massive, fanged green creature dominates this February 1979 Charlton cover by Steve Ditko, its glowing eyes and gaping maw looming over a terrified woman in red who clutches a glowing crystal ball. Two menacing figures flank the scene — one gripping a large knife — making "Incident at Soulbridge" feel like exactly the kind of tense, creature-feature encounter this series does so well. Ditko's signature energy is all over this one, and fans of late-'70s monster comics will find plenty to appreciate here.
