“Firefighter Hero”

In "Firefighter Hero," Donald Duck’s passion for firefighting clashes with his famously clumsy nature, leading to a series of increasingly humbling demotions within the volunteer crew. When his own home catches fire, it’s his nephews who step up in a moment of true heroism, earning their place on the firetruck in a twist that turns the tide of the day. Written and illustrated by Carl Barks, this 1982 Mobil Oil New Zealand comic features a charming, self-contained story with Barks’ signature blend of humor and heart, all rendered in his distinctive style—cover by Carl Barks.

Donald is a volunteer firefighter, but his enthusiasm cannot compensate for his ineptitude. His mistakes result in successive demotions from hose man to squirt man to wet sack man. When their own house catches fire, it is the nephews who save the day and they are rewarded with jobs on the firetruck.
