Laura's father was the manager of a famous racing stables, but she was unable to ride because of her twisted leg that had been injured when her mount fell on her when she was younger. When a foal is born with deformities behind the shoulders, the men are about to kill it when Laura steps in and says she will take care of it and they will never have to see it. When rumours of a secret horse reach shady characters, Laura mounts the horse, which now has wings, and flies it to a remote location where she sets it free.
