Philip serves in World War II but is reported MIA. Philip returns claiming to be "Tony," a comrade of his. Because Philip's face was reconstructed in surgery, Linda doesn't recognize him. "Tony" makes a play for Linda to test her devotion to him then reveals the truth and magnanimously declares she's worthy of him.
