“The Bells Are Ringing”

In "The Bells Are Ringing," Cathy's fragile grip on reality begins to unravel as her split personality takes center stage. With her roommate's urging, she flees to London, only to find Frank desperately trying to stop her—too late, as Sandra's influence tightens. The story unfolds with quiet dread, drawn in sharp, expressive lines by Leslie Houghton, whose art captures every flicker of fear and control. A 6d comic from January 1964, Mirabelle #4 delivers a chilling psychological tale with a haunting sense of inevitability.
