Ray had told Lucy that he wanted to get settled in Australia before sending for her. The girl next door tells her that he's probably got himself hitched to an Aussie girl and that's why she hasn't heard from him. She meets Frank, a friend of Ray's, who is supportive of her. On the day that Ray's letter arrives, Lucy learns that Ray is leaving for a better job and she finds herself conflicted.
