“Stranger on a Train”

"Stranger on a Train" in Mirabelle #12 (August 1967) sees Deb and Sarah diving into a car maintenance course to get closer to the Jones brothers—only for the boys to abandon it for boating. Left stranded in a boat they can’t control, the girls call a taxi, meeting the striking Mr. Smith, who’s intrigued by Sam’s and soon brings his brother along. As the Smiths find themselves swept into the Joneses’ whirlwind lifestyle, it’s clear the tables are turning in this charming, lighthearted tale, drawn with crisp detail by Esteban Maroto.

To get to know the Jones brothers, Deb signs her and Sarah up for a car maintenance course. When the brothers drop out of the course and take up a boating craze, Deb and Sarah get in a boat but can't figure out how to stop it. They phone for a taxi to take them to Sam's and are wowed by the handsome taxi driver, Mr. Smith. He thinks Sam's sounds interesting and brings his brother to Sam's. Soon instead of the girls keeping up the the Joneses, it is the Smiths who are trying to keep up with them.
