“Palace of Dreams”

In the 1961 IPC comic *Mirabelle* #1, the story "Palace of Dreams" begins with Jan boarding a flight to join her fiancé in the distant land of Fazan—only for the plane to crash-land in the very country she’s traveling to. Awakening in a hospital, she finds herself mistaken for the missing Princess Vanira, her face now bearing the princess’s features, while the world insists that Jan Morton died in the crash. The tale, illustrated with delicate precision by Shirley Bellwood, unfolds with a mystery as delicate as it is disorienting.
