Mind the Gap #12

Jim McCann and Sami Basri's psychological thriller from Image reaches its twelfth issue with a cover by Rodin Esquejo that immediately commands attention. Two faces — one fair-skinned, one darker-complexioned — are sliced into alternating vertical strips and merged into a single unsettling composite portrait, both figures wearing the same dark hoodie and staring out with tense, guarded eyes and clenched fists. It's a striking visual shorthand for the fractured identity and "out of body" themes at the heart of "Out of Bodies Part 2: Some of its Parts," and a reminder of why Mind the Gap kept readers hooked through 2013.
