Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1
The Glénat Comics edition of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 — published in France in March 2017 under the subtitle Ranger Vert, Année Un — marks the first time the landmark BOOM! Studios Power Rangers comic continuity reached French-language readers in a collected, hardcover album format, bringing a genuinely ambitious reinvention of the franchise to a Francophone audience. The underlying story, writer Kyle Higgins's 'Green Ranger: Year One' arc, was itself a turning point for Power Rangers in comics: rather than treating Tommy Oliver's redemption as a done deal, it mapped the psychological cost of having been brainwashed by Rita Repulsa, giving the character real interiority that the television series rarely attempted. That tonal shift — grounding a Saturday-morning property in character-driven drama without abandoning the spectacle of Zords and Megazord battles — established the template that all subsequent BOOM! Studios creative teams would build on, eventually sustaining a run that stretched past 100 issues and spawned multiple crossover events. Glénat's choice to release the album timed to the April 2017 Power Rangers theatrical film also made it the primary entry point for a new generation of French readers discovering the mythology on the page for the first time.

BOOM! Studios and Saban Brands announced the English-language comic series in June 2015, assembling a creative team led by writer Kyle Higgins (known for his DC work on Nightwing and C.O.W.L.) with artist Hendry Prasetya on pencils and Matt Herms on colors, plus back-up stories co-written by Steve Orlando and Mairghread Scott with art by Corin Howell and Daniel Bayliss. The American run launched with a special #0 issue on January 13, 2016, followed by #1 on March 2, 2016 — the first issue in the 'Green Ranger: Year One' story arc — and quickly became one of the best-selling comics of that month. Glénat Comics subsequently licensed the material for France, collecting issues #0 through #4 into a 160-page hardcover album (ISBN 9782344022658) released on March 29, 2017, deliberately timed to coincide with the wide French release of the 2017 Power Rangers film. The French publishing run later stalled after four volumes, leaving most of the series untranslated until Vestron subsequently re-licensed the material and began releasing comprehensive omnibus editions.
