☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis collected edition concludes the middle-grade fantasy adventure series by Ben Hatke, following Jack and his friends as they face the Goblin King in a battle to save their garden—and the world—from the forces of chaos. It collects the final story arc of the 2017 series from First Second, blending whimsical art with themes of courage and friendship.
In Mighty Jack #2, Ben Hatke’s vibrant storytelling brings Jack and Lilly deeper into the strange, plant-haunted realm where Maddy has vanished. Separated after their journey, Jack infiltrates a castle while Lilly is captured by goblins—only to challenge their king to combat, defeat him, and claim the throne. With the goblins’ aid, they rescue Maddy, uncover hidden Confederate gold beneath a buried monster, and return home with a new lease on life. Three months later, a surprise visitor from beyond the stars—Zita the Spacegirl—arrives with a mission that could change everything. The cover by Ben Hatke captures the story’s whimsical yet urgent tone, and the full creative team, including Alex Campbell and Hilary Sycamore, brings this surreal adventure to life.
