When the pixies later deceive Tom, Dick, and Harry into accompanying them, Mighty Atom must rescue the children from a scheming sparrow named Mister Sparrow who uses the pixies' trickery to lure victims away. The story continues with Mighty Atom helping settlers on a wagon train fend off attacks from Native Americans and moving the wagons across a canyon, eventually earning the name "Smokey" from the townspeople of Pittsburgh. The issue concludes with the pixies attempting to steal grape juice that Mighty Atom has squeezed, but the hero thwarts their plan and the pixies escape as he vanishes, leaving Pete Pixie behind and promising readers "plenty of punch" in the next issue.
