Midnighter #5

Midnighter issue #5 from December 2015 teams the darkly-clad antihero up with Grayson, and ACO's cover captures them both mid-air — weapons in hand, locked in a desperate aerial struggle — while massive, jagged creature jaws loom on either side, threatening to snap shut around them. The tagline "In the Jaws of Death!" makes the stakes unmistakable, and the swirling vortex beneath the two figures gives the whole scene a dizzying, freefall energy. With Steve Orlando writing and Stephen Mooney on interior art alongside Romulo Fajardo Jr.'s colors, this 2015 DC series continues to deliver something genuinely different from the superhero crowd.
