From Image Comics' 2023 series about superheroics in the second half of life, this third issue offers a refreshingly human moment: a suited-up hero in gold and orange armor is crashed on the couch alongside sleeping companions, an open pizza box and scattered snacks on the coffee table in front of them, while flames flicker ominously at the edges of the scene. Stefano Simeone's warm, slightly chaotic cover captures the endearing tension between domestic exhaustion and the ever-present dangers of the job — a superhero helmet resting on the table beside a thermos says it all. Buccellato and Simeone's series continues to make the case that figuring out how to be a hero at fifty is as much about finding rest where you can as it is about fighting whatever's burning outside.
