Robert Armstrong's underground comix sensibility is on full display in Mickey Rat #4, where the scruffy, goggle-eyed Mickey Rat himself is caught between an indignant suited man and an angry red-haired woman outside a "Citizens Conference for Decency" — a setup dripping with satirical tension. The tagline "Lower Your Reading Standards" says it all, and the subtitle promises further mayhem featuring Dizzy Ratstein and the Couch Potatoes. This 1982 Last Gasp release is a gleefully irreverent slice of underground comics at its sharpest.
