“Huey, Dewey & Louie Take Tricycle Apart”

In "Huey, Dewey & Louie Take Tricycle Apart," the mischievous nephews dive into a whirlwind adventure that’s equal parts slapstick and suspense, all set against the windswept backdrop of a mysterious Scottish castle. Written and illustrated by Carl Barks, this 1954 issue delivers classic Disney charm with a twist, as the trio’s curiosity leads them through hidden passages and eerie shadows—no treasure map required. The cover by Manuel Gonzales captures the playful tension perfectly, a 4d comic in 1954 that’s still a delight for collectors.

Uncle Scrooge and the ducks go to Scotland to find the treasure hidden in the walls of the old McDuck castle, and there they encounter a "ghost" that is invisible except for the shadow cast by its skeleton. The "ghost" soon steals the treasure and traps the ducks on a balcony a hundred feet above the ground, but the nephews get down safely and find a secret entrance to the castle through an old graveyard.
