Metal Men #8

The finale of this eight-issue DC series arrives with a cover by Duncan Rouleau that practically bursts with kinetic energy — Doc Magnus is shown wide-eyed and off-balance, clutching miniaturized versions of his Metal Men (gold, silver, and a red-tinted figure arcing overhead) as swirling circuitry fills the pink background. That bold "FOREVER!" declaration at the bottom gives the whole image a satisfying sense of culmination. Spinning out of 52 and Superman/Batman, this 2008 series wrapped up Duncan Rouleau's inventive reinvention of one of DC's most endearing robot teams.
