The fifth and final episode of Mermaid Project arrives with a genuinely striking cover by Fred Simon: a massive humpback whale erupts through the interior of what appears to be an industrial facility, sending water, debris, and structural wreckage flying in every direction while two small human figures scramble to escape in the foreground. The sheer scale of the creature against the confined industrial setting makes for a visceral, visually arresting image. Written by Leo and Corine Jamar with art by Fred Simon, this 2017 Dargaud release promises a dramatic conclusion to the series.
