This first volume of Medaka Box introduces the eccentric student council president Medaka Kurokami and her childhood friend Zenkichi Hitoyoshi at Hakoniwa Academy. Medaka, who is unnaturally talented and beloved by all, establishes a suggestion box to help solve any problem brought by students, dragging Zenkichi into her increasingly bizarre and action-packed schemes. The volume collects the opening chapters of the manga series created by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki, blending school comedy with over-the-top martial arts battles.
