Mechaton #1
"Chapter 1: Ignition, or How to Properly Punch A Giant Cockroach in the Face" introduces Mechaton #1, a bold new series from Scout Comics that kicks off with a surreal, high-octane moment: a daytime shooting star splits mid-air, one fragment crashing near Leah and leaving behind a colossal metal glove. When she convinces pizza delivery driver Derek to try it on—and connect his phone to its strange interface—the glove activates in a flash, transforming him into the armored Mechaton Mark I just in time to face a monstrous threat charging down the street. Written by Wells Thompson and Dalton Shannon, with striking visuals by Fernando Pinto (pencils and inks) and vibrant colors by Mayday Trippe, the issue’s cover by Pinto captures the moment of transformation with dynamic flair.

While Derek is delivering a pizza, a customer sees a shooting star in the middle of the day. The shooting star breaks into 2 pieces near the ground. One lands near Leah; a giant metal glove is in the crater. She shows it to Derek and puts it on his hand, then plugs her phone into the glove to see if she can read its programming. Then a giant monster charges down the street. Derek pulls a street vendor out of the way and slams his gloved fist on the ground and suddenly his entire body is covered in Mechaton Mark I armor. Derek defeats the monster, then police show up and order him to freeze.
