The second volume of Philippe Pelaez and Carlos Puerta's dark series takes its unsettling title — Moreau — and runs with it fully, presenting a cover drenched in sickly green light where a silver-haired man works alone among towering glass alembics, coiling tubes, and bubbling vessels in a shadowy laboratory. More chilling still are the severed heads submerged in containers along the floor, their vacant expressions suggesting experiments that have long since crossed every moral boundary. Puerta's artwork transforms the cluttered workspace into something almost painterly, making this 2021 Ankama release one of the more atmospherically assured covers in recent Franco-Belgian horror comics.
