“The Shard of Darkness Chapter 1”

In "The Shard of Darkness Chapter 1," Orko stumbles upon a mysterious glowing crystal during a quiet walk in the woods—just as Evil-Lyn schemes to harness the power of the Shakarran Crystal to unseat Skeletor. When a fire engulfs Eternia City beyond He-Man’s reach, it’s Orko who surprises everyone by flying in and using the crystal to extinguish the flames. With the artifact now in their hands, He-Man and Man-At-Arms bring it to Castle Grayskull to seek answers from the Sorceress. Written by Val Staples and illustrated by Emiliano Santalucia, with inks by Marco Failla and colors by Val Staples, Dash Martin, and Shaynne Corbett, this 2003 CrossGen issue sets a spellbinding tone with its blend of magic, mystery, and rising tension.
