The issue features two Western stories. In "Wyatt Earp: The King's Ransom," the trail herd is driven to the cattlepens outside town, and King Ryan's tough Texans become steamed up for a fight, forcing Marshal Wyatt Earp to make his stand alone. In the main "Masked Raider" story, a lawyer named Reeves with a reputation as a rough-and-tumble fighter becomes involved in a land dispute; the lawyer seeks information at a bank, and later confronts characters over a land grant and territorial claim, with threats of legal action and violence escalating throughout the narrative.
