Box's Mary Sue arrives with a cover full of infectious energy, courtesy of artist Lisa Sterle — two young women streak across a vivid yellow-green background in a burst of rainbow-hued motion, one confidently flashing a peace sign from a pink bicycle while her wide-eyed companion hangs on behind her, hair flying. Sterle's bright, expressive linework and punchy color palette give the whole image a kinetic, carefree momentum that perfectly captures the series' playful spirit. If this cover is any indication, issue two is keeping the fun turned all the way up.
