This 1973 reprint edition brings Spider-Man face-to-face with the Kingpin in a gripping cover by John Romita — the massive, green-suited crime boss clutches Spider-Man's wrist while the web-slinger is yanked off balance, a smaller inset of Spidey swinging freely in the upper corner hinting at the stakes. The story title "O, Bitter Victory!" sets a wonderfully dramatic tone for what Stan Lee, John Romita, and Don Heck crafted inside. At just 20 cents, this is a satisfying package of Marvel storytelling at its most charged.
