About this Collection

This volume of the Marvel Masterworks series collects Amazing Spider-Man #31-40 and the 1966 Annual #2, a period that sees Peter Parker grappling with the fallout of his secret identity being exposed to the Green Goblin. It includes the debut of the Shocker, the return of the Vulture, and the classic 'The Sinister Six' storyline in the annual, all under the creative direction of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko before the latter's departure from the title.

In "If This Be My Destiny...!", Spider-Man faces his greatest trial yet—trapped beneath collapsing debris in a drowning underwater base, with Aunt May's life hanging in the balance. Written by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, with art, inks, and cover by Ditko, this gripping tale showcases Spidey's resilience and courage under extreme pressure. The dynamic artwork and tense pacing make this a standout entry in the Marvel Masterworks series.
