Part two of "The Stuff of Nightmares" arrives in fine Marvel Knights fashion, with Steve McNiven and Mark Morales delivering a cover that pits the rocky, ever-reliable Thing against a massive green-skinned foe — while the Human Torch blazes fiery streams of flame and a tiny Mr. Fantastic stretches into the fray. The sense of scale is genuinely striking, with Ben Grimm dwarfed by the looming threat above him yet clearly not backing down for a second. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's run on this grounded take on Marvel's First Family continues to find compelling dramatic territory, and this 2004 issue makes a strong visual case for why.
