An alien probe designed to steal the Surfer's Power Cosmic malfunctions and transfers it to Spider-Man, who finds himself in space confronting a giant being called Primordius, while the Surfer is trapped on Earth with no memory until he is helped by a young girl. Primordius is a former Herald of Galactus, jealous of the Surfer's fame, and the Surfer quickly dispatches him once his powers are restored
