Mars Attacks Judge Dredd #2

The crossover that needed to happen: IDW's 2013 mashup of Mars Attacks and Judge Dredd reaches its second issue with a cover by Greg Staples that immediately tells you everything about the tone. A leering Martian invader — bulbous brain exposed beneath a glass dome, skeletal green face grinning with unsettling confidence — points a ray gun directly at the reader while decked out in Judge Dredd's own eagle-shouldered armor, complete with a "DREDD" badge on its chest. It's a gleefully unnerving image that sets the stage for Al Ewing and John McCrea's collision of two wildly different sci-fi universes.
