A famous concert pianist has come to Raventhwaite Hall for peace and quiet to practise for his coming world tour. When he encounters Maggie, he is delighted to discover someone who doesn't know who he is. Upon learning that Maggie has been laid off at the mill, Jervis offers her a job cleaning up his house, but Maggie's boyfriend is opposed to the idea.
