Valerie's boat almost knocks Roy out of a tree, so he shows her how to handle the oars. They end up making a date for the next evening. But Valerie is actually quite adept at using a boat and wins the challenge cup for water sports for the third year in a row the following day. However, she is embarrassed when a special guest is on hand to present the trophy - Roy, who is an Olympic oarsman. Valerie had actually had a bet with Jean and Claire about meeting Roy, but Roy knew about the bet and had intentionally waited for Valerie.
