Mark tells Carole that he was Jack Dene's half-brother and that's why he had made her suffer. But now he believes she is innocent and makes a desperate attempt to swim to a boat. He puts Carole and Benny into the boat just before the sea wall breaks and it is swept away from him. In the hospital, the man from Scotland Yard tells her that Dene was murdered by a gang, making it appear as a suicide with her to blame. With her name cleared, she is desperate to see Mark. Mark is rescued and reunited with Carole.
