Few covers from 1975 promise quite this much chaos: John Romita Sr. and John Romita deliver a street-level brawl in which the shambling, muck-encrusted Man-Thing squares off simultaneously against Spider-Man, Daredevil, Shang-Chi, and the Thing, all four heroes pressing in from every angle while bystanders scatter in the background. The cover boldly teases "The Nightmare Box" — whatever lurks inside that particular mystery, Steve Gerber and Jim Mooney are clearly not playing it safe.
