Chelsea Cain's sharp, satirical Image series continues with an issue whose cover perfectly captures the book's irreverent wit: against a cool blue background, a tampon has been playfully transformed into a tiny cat, complete with drawn-on whiskers, ears, and a string-turned-tail. It's a deceptively simple image that says everything about Man-Eaters' willingness to be bold and funny on its own terms. Cover art by Lia Miternique makes the most of minimalism, turning an everyday object into something that's hard to look away from.
