Mamo #2

Sas Milledge's enchanting Mamo continues with this second issue from BOOM! Box, and the cover alone makes a compelling case for the series. Two young figures — a dark-haired girl in a striped shirt and a blonde companion — are swept up in a swirling surge of dark, leaf-strewn water, while a striking moth perches dramatically near the blonde's face. The moody teal palette and fluid linework give the whole image a sense of folklore and quiet unease that feels genuinely fresh in 2021 comics.
