Magneto dominates this striking cover by Todd Nauck, arms spread wide in his purple-and-red costume as two very different worlds flank him — on one side, the Scarlet Witch and a group of costumed figures charge forward bathed in cool blue energy, while on the other, the yellow-uniformed New Mutants rush alongside a fiery figure and a wolfish creature in warm orange light. Writer J. M. DeMatteis teams with Nauck and colorist Rachelle Rosenberg for what promises to be a deep dive into the Master of Magnetism's complicated history, announced right in the story title: "Evil Mutant, Chapter One: Things Past!" The visual split of the cover alone hints at the moral complexity that has always made Magneto one of Marvel's most compelling figures.
