A quietly powerful work from La Boîte à Bulles, this 2017 French-language graphic novel brings to life the stories of the Lính Thợ — Vietnamese workers forcibly displaced under colonial rule. Clément Baloup's cover art sets a reflective, watercolor-washed tone: a shirtless young Vietnamese man stands amid a field of young crops, his posture caught between endurance and defiance, while a distant figure on horseback surveys the landscape behind him.
