Part of DC's Black Label Sandman Universe line, this 2020 issue finds Lucifer rendered in moody, painterly style by cover artist Tiffany Turrill — a composed, sharp-featured figure holding a hammer and radiating an amber glow against a turbulent backdrop of deep crimsons and purples, a dark cat winding at his feet. Behind him looms a shadowy architectural structure with warmly lit windows, hinting at something being built — or perhaps reclaimed. With Dan Watters writing, Fernando Blanco on art, and Dee Cunniffe's colors inside, The House the Devil Built promises the kind of quietly unsettling atmosphere this series does so well.
