Luba's Comics and Stories #6
In "Rosalba," Gilbert Hernandez crafts a quietly haunting vignette as Luba stirs from sleep to find a finished nude portrait of herself—her painter still slumbering beside it. She carries the painting into the woods and burns it, then watches, unseen, as younger versions of Fritz and Petra share a tender moment with their lovers. Rendered in Hernandez’s signature introspective style, the story lingers in the space between memory and desire, all drawn and lettered by the artist himself.
