Atlas Comics' Lovers was one of the warmest romance titles of 1953, and issue #54 delivers all the heartfelt drama the series promised. Al Hartley's cover draws you straight into a passionate shipside embrace — a blonde woman in a red-and-orange striped top swept up in a dark-haired young man's arms, rigging and wooden mast framing the moment beautifully.
