An anthology issue featuring three romantic stories: "A Girl's Reputation" follows Jane Wilson, whose budding romance with Tom Stewart is jeopardized when town gossips begin spreading rumors about their relationship, causing Tom to distance himself until Jane learns that flattery and persistence can overcome misunderstandings. "Flattery Will Get You Nowhere!" tells of Trudy, who is courted by a man using sweet compliments and clever conversation, only to discover his romantic overtures are insincere manipulation. "Flirting Forbidden!" depicts Miss Clark, a flight hostess for Skyways, Inc., who must navigate company rules against fraternizing with passengers while developing feelings for a troubled young passenger she assists during a flight.

A Man's World!
7 pp · Romance

A young woman determined to prove herself as a forest ranger finds herself caught between two very different men: Bud, the rugged ranger in charge who refuses to give her an inch, and Mal, the charming dude ranch owner who treats her like a lady. As Julie navigates the challenges of doing a man's job in a man's world, she'll have to decide what she really wants—and whether winning against one means losing with the other.

A Girl's Reputation
2 pp · Romance

When Jane and Tom meet and feel an instant spark, he promises to call with plans for dinners and walks—but days pass without a word. Tom's friends fill his head with gossip about Jane's past: questionable acquaintances, broken engagements, even a rumor about wearing shorts in public. Though Jane is genuinely a good person with reasonable explanations for it all, she never gets the chance to defend herself, and Tom moves on to someone else entirely. A poignant reminder that in a small town, perception can matter far more than the truth.

One More Chance
7 pp · Romance

Marcia Brown has carried a torch for her childhood friend Eddie Brant for years, content to be his pal while secretly dreaming he'd see her as more—until the vivacious Gloria arrives in town and captures his heart instead. Desperate to escape the pain, Marcia flees to New York City for work, only to learn that Eddie and Gloria are honeymooning there and plan to visit her. Caught between her lies about a glamorous new life and the reality of her loneliness, Marcia convinces the charming Ted Carson, a coworker, to pose as her boyfriend for the visit—but as the week unfolds, something unexpected begins to shift beneath the surface of their charade.

Flattery Will Get You Nowhere!
1 pp · Romance

When Trudy gets dressed up for a date with a charming man who showers her with compliments, she's convinced she's finally met someone who truly understands her—until she discovers he's been using the same line on her girlfriends. A sharp little cautionary tale about the difference between genuine attention and practiced flattery, set against the backdrop of 1953 romance.
