Sue is freed from prison after serving three years for a smuggling charge. She had been assisting at a curio shop and had been unable to prove her innocence after the shop owner had fled. She is unable to find a job until a back street agent recognizes her resemblance to Ruth Delver. A fake 'murder' is arranged and Sue is blackmailed into impersonating Ruth for a week while Ruth's aunt visits.
