When a young vet drives home after a long night of surgery helping a cow give birth, he has to swerve to avoid hitting a girl as she steps off the pavement. He starts to lecture her, when an angry young man slugs him after pointing out that she is blind. Wanting to apologize for the things he said, the vet finds her address from a woman at the scene and goes to her house. When he sees that her seeing-eye dog has a minor injury, he offers to treat it. Later, he makes a call to an old friend who was now a doctor to see if there was some way for Brenda to recover her sight.
