“Sunshine Girl”

"Sunshine Girl" introduces Paddy, a door-to-door saleswoman for Crunchi-Crisps, whose chance encounter with a mysterious painter sets off a chain of events that lands her in the spotlight—only to find her image suddenly appearing on a rival's billboard. A striking moment of serendipity turns into a twist neither she nor the reader could have predicted, all captured in this 1976 issue of Love Story Picture Library, with a typeset lettering style that adds to the period charm.

Paddy is struggling selling Crunchi-Crisps door-to-door when a man says she is just what he is looking for. He asks her to stand and smile while he paints her picture. Twenty minutes later he seems to want to get rid of her. Back at work, she is reported to the man who runs the advertising department. But when he sees her, he just tells her to stand there and smile. He feels he has found the Delicious Crunchi-Crisp Girl of 1976. Paddy is going to be the focus of their advertising and she is finally happy until she sees a billboard with her face advertising a rival product.
