Mike had been a research chemist at a local hospital. Then he is offered a three-year contract in the States for more money and they will pay for both fares if he and Janie get married right away. Janie is worried about leaving her parents. They advise her to go, but she decides to stay instead. Mike writes to her, but eventually a letter sounds like he may be interested in another girl. Then Janie's parents tell her they are going to visit Aunt Betty's for six months. There would no room for Janie, so her parents offer to pay her fare to the States.
