Dr. Walsh has lost his confidence after losing a patient and refuses to perform more surgery. When a distraught girl runs in front of a car, Dr. Clarke gambles that Dr. Walsh won't let her die and tricks him into performing the surgery. The surgery is successful, but the girl doesn't have the will to live because her fiance broke up with her. The fiance still loved her, but dumped her because his doctor had told him he only had three months to live. But using a technique Dr. Walsh has developed, he is able to operate and save the girl's fiance too.
